Franklyn Smith is a Lead Audit Engagement Partner with PricewaterhouseCoopers responsible for audits of mutual funds and non-public funds. He joined PricewaterhouseCoopers in 1989 and was admitted to the Partnership in 2006. He has over 25 years of experience in the asset management industry serving clients with a wide range of investment vehicles including registered mutual funds, hedge funds, private equity funds, offshore funds and bank collective trusts. His experience includes assisting clients with due diligence reviews of fund mergers, structuring new funds, and addressing other operational, regulatory and reporting matters. He has significant experience with various investment fund structures including master-feeder funds and multi class funds and a wide array of investment products, including derivatives, emerging markets securities, municipal securities, mortgage and asset backed securities.
He is also a Market Team Leader in New York’s Asset and Wealth Management Practice where he is responsible driving various firm matters relating to quality, people and client experience. He oversees Partner assignments, plans, rotation, performance and responsive action plans. He oversees annual budgets, staffing process and drives audit transformation efforts and initiatives.
Franklyn has Bachelors in Business Administration in Public Accounting and Master of Business Administration in Public Accounting from Pace University. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in the States of New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. He lives in Cortlandt Manor, New York with his wife and two children.
