FOR IMEDIATE RELEASE:
Serve For Kids: A Day of Tennis and Family Fun!
New Mexico nonprofit hosts major tennis fete at Albuquerque Academy to raise money for local forgotten children and regional orphanages.
August 29—The Share My Fortune organization is serving up plenty of tennis and exciting activities on the Albuquerque Academy campus on Saturday, September 28! The organization will present Serve For Kids, a daylong tennis entertainment event that will directly benefit orphans and forgotten children in New Mexico. Joining us in all the fun will be special guest KRQE’s Mark Ronchetti and family!
Serve For Kids features tennis play and instruction for kids 4-18, a special surprise exhibition match, food, music, a big raffle, various games for prizes, and much more. The fundraiser will support the mission of Academy junior varsity tennis player Aalisha Bhatt, who is the inspiring founder and chief volunteer of Share My Fortune, an organization that devotes resources and provides money for orphans.
“I couldn’t be more proud of Aalisha and her pursuit of helping children, given up for adoption, once like herself, find hope and a new beginning,” said Amy Badger, Academy Girls Tennis Head Coach. “There is no greater inspiration than to see kids helping kids, and in this case kids ‘serving’ for kids.”
Serve For Kids will take place from 9am to 4:30pm at the Academy’s magnificent 16-court tennis facility at 6400 Wyoming Blvd., NE in Albuquerque. There will be designated morning and afternoon tennis sessions that require registration. You can register at www.Sharemyfortune.org. The tax-deductible entry fee is $15. There are a limited number of spots for play for each tennis session, so sign up early. Each registered participant will receive a T-shirt and other on-court prizes.
The Serve For Kids schedule is as follows:
9:00am-11:30am: Registration and organized play for kids ages 4-12 using red, orange, green-dot transition balls and middle school players using regular yellow balls.
11:30am-12:30pm: An exciting exhibition tennis match you won’t want to miss!
12:30pm-1:00pm: Morning raffle results and closing session remarks.
1:00pm-4:00pm: Registration and organized play for high school players.
4:00pm-4:30pm: Raffle results and closing remarks.
Other off-court activities at Serve for Kids include a bouncy house, corn hole, balloon art and face painting. There will also be vendors from Wilson, New Mexico Youth Tennis Foundation, Albuquerque Academy, and Share My Fortune.
“Words cannot fully describe how gratifying it is to help children who go through psychological, educational and financial challenges in life. This fund raiser will serve the purpose of providing the resources to those who have no means to help themselves.” said Nimish Bhatt, President, Share My Fortune and CFO, Thornburg Investment Management.
All proceeds from Serve For Kids will go directly to Share My Fortune, which has a goal to raise $100,000 by June 2020.
